People often ask me, “Why do you make podcasts?”

I could rant a whole day long about this. But if I had to boil it down to one reason?

Last night gave me the answer.

I came home late yesterday. It was 9 pm and I haven’t made my dinner.

The thought of cooking for myself late at night and then cleaning up made me exhausted.

My flatmate, a 60-year-old woman from Hong Kong, took one look at me, waved her hand and said,

“Rest.”

She barely speaks English (but fluently in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Portuguese). And I don’t speak any of these.

But in that moment, she spoke a dialect we both understood: food.

She cooked me a steaming bowl of noodles and wonton, and we shared stories over bites.

Absolutely a gorgeous bowl of wonton and noodle soup

It hit me: This is why I podcast.

It is because of the human connection, the insightful conversations, and how we, as human beings, bond over stories.

🎙️ It is the stories that drive the engine.

And food ;)

I think. I write. Then I speak.
